Earlham again lauded as one of nation’s top classroom experiences by The Princeton Review
August 06, 2019
Earlham College once again has been recognized as a national leader for undergraduate academics and learning, according to the 江苏快3预测 edition of The Princeton Review’s Best 385 Colleges. Just 13 percent of the nation’s 2,500 institutions of higher education are included in the guide.
For the second straight year, Earlham is featured as one of the nation’s 20 best classroom experiences. This ranking is based on students' answers to several survey questions during the last two years, including how they rate their professors, the quality of their classroom and lab facilities, the amount of in-class time devoted to discussion, and the percent of classes they attend.
“An cation goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. We prepare students for extraordinary careers and a commitment to lifelong learning,” Earlham President Anne Houtman says. “Our graduates often remark that they form strong relationships with their professors and consider them friends and mentors in their professional pursuits.”
Earlham students surveyed by Princeton Review describe the classroom experience as “rigorous,” interesting” and “engaging,” and praise the College for its low student-to-faculty ratio that encourages a “strong and close connection with professors.”
In addition to extraordinary classrooms, the guide also lauds Earlham for its “great” financial aid, environmentally conscious student body, and active support for a diverse student body.
Earlham delivers an extraordinary liberal arts experience through the Earlham Program for an Integrated Curriculum (EPIC). This four-year journey combines the academic major with transformative learning experiences, including research, study abroad, internships and leadership development, to prepare students exceptionally well for life beyond Earlham.
Earlham also offers The EPIC Advantage — a funded internship, project or research experience of up to $5,000 per student — a level of support that few other institutions in the country江苏快3预测 can match.
"We chose the 385 colleges for this edition as our 'best' overall, academically, based on data we gathered in 2018–19 from more than a thousand school administrators about their schools' academic programs and offerings," says Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's Editor-in-Chief and lead author of the book. "We are well aware, however, that applicants need more than an academic assessment to choose the colleges best for them. We created our dozens of ranking lists specifically to facilitate that search. We tally our lists using data we gather directly from our surveys of students attending these colleges. Our survey asks the students about their professors, administrators, school services, campus culture, and other facets of life at their schools."
