            A wise investment

Within six months of graduation, more than 90 percent of the graduating class is either employed or in graduate school, a volunteer program or a fellowship.

Earlham is in the top 2 percent of schools in the nation in terms of graduating students who pursue a Ph.D., and has twice the national rate of students accepted into medical schools. An cation is a wise investment in your student’s future.

We’re here to support your student

Earlham ranks 7th nationally by Princeton Review for Best Classroom Experience and 22nd by U.S. News and World Report for Commitment to Undergraduate Teaching.

            Financial advantage

The average loan debt for our graduates is significantly lower than the national average. According to the College Board, the average debt for students attending a four-year private college was $32,600. The average debt for Earlham students was about $6,500 lower.

We make applying for and receiving aid simple. Most scholarships are renewable for up to four years, as long as your student maintains a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA and remains enrolled fulltime. The rest of the aid package would normally stay in place unless there’s a change in the family’s financial circumstances. Be sure the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, is completed each year.

            How’s life at Earlham?

It’s full of students who are up for adventure, finding new and beloved ways to have fun on campus:

            • Division III athletic contests in 19 sports
            • Humans vs. Zombies, a long-running tradition of humans trying to survive a Zombie invasion (or, as some know it, tag)
            • Dance Alloy dancers showcase their choreographic chops to full houses
            • Hammocks on The Heart in springtime
            • 50 active clubs and organizations, including club sports
            • Themed housing based on shared interests (no frats or sororities at Earlham)
            • A student-run coffee shop with the best dirty chai latte around
            • PC Skits, an annual tradition of students not taking much of anything seriously
            • The 24-hour Theatre Project, during which teams devise plays overnight
            • Back Campus, hundreds of acres of trails, ponds and fields to explore
            • Christmas Candlelight program with songs and snacks

Students take charge in planning activities that interest them, from hiking and canoe trips to special excursions. By the way, students also serve on committees that advise on the college budget, review hiring and promotion of faculty, and shape student life policies!
